miranda kerr alkaline dietVictoria’s Secret model, Miranda Kerr who gave birth to Flynn, her first child with husband Orlando Bloom, in January – explained in addition to sticking to an eating plan specially devised for blood type A, she also supplements her diet to ensure her body receives maximum nutrition.

Miranda Kerr Diet

The 27-year-old beauty said: “I am a blood type A and more often than not I eat specifically for my blood type. I also eat low GI, high alkaline foods, drink filtered water and eat mostly fresh produce and very little meat.

“I believe it is important to supplement our food to ensure our bodies have the nutrition required to remain healthy. This is even more important if you do not eat certified organic foods and certified organic fresh produce.”

Miranda’s Protein Shake Supplement

The Sunwarrior protein is part of Miranda Kerr’s Alkaline Diet. Miranda loves the Sunwarrior Protein!

In an interview Miranda was asked: You lost the little baby weight you gained ridiculously fast. Can you give us a breakdown of your daily diet? Miranda answered, “Everyday is different but I like to start the day with a fresh alkaline green juice with kale, spinach, cucumber, beets, and lemon. Then half an hour later, I have a power smoothie which has Sunwarrior protein powder, chia seeds, maca powder, raw cacao, bee pollen, goji berries, noni juice, vitamineral green and coconut water. Then an hour after that I’ll have oatmeal or eggs. That’s my three-course power breakfast. For lunch I might have some grilled fish with goat cheese or baby spinach salad and olives. Sometimes I’ll have a sweet potato. At dinner, I’ll have a lentil soup and maybe some chicken. And I love to have my salads with avocado, feta and spinach.”

Miranda Kerr was criticized last year for her tiny frame, the supermodel insists she takes her responsibility as a role model seriously, and would never put her health in danger.

“As soon as you step into the public eye you need to take responsibility for the people you are influencing,” she explained.

“Body image is something that the majority of young women struggle with and I do think it is important that models are seen to be healthy and at a weight that works for their body type,” the beauty said.

More From Miranda Kerr On Her Alkaline Diet: I am not a vegetarian, meat; being primarily seafood and chicken make up most of my personally acidic food intake.  To further counteract the negativity of the acidic food, I eat high alkaline foods to balance my overall daily nutrition intake. Why do I do this?, well;

Miranda Kerr Diet Eating HealthyWhen eating any alkaline or acidic food I also take into consideration whether or not the particular food is good, bad or neutral for my blood type, combines well with the other foods I am eating and has a lower or higher GI rating than I would like to eat at that particular time of the day.  Obviously if it is unsuitable for my blood type or it doesn’t combine effectively with the other food I am eating in the same meal then I avoid it.  If it is just a matter of the GI rating I may or may not eat it, depending on the time of the day.

I  like to drink water, preferably; alkaline water.  Unfortunately water doesn’t come naturally alkalized and most bottle water has low alkaline levels so I add “Plasma pH”, high pH water drops to the water I personally drink or instead I drink out of my own personalized water/alkaline filter.

In relation to alkalizing my body through food I eat a lot of lemons, figs, limes, almonds, pineapple,  umeboshi plums, seaweeds, kiwifruit, passion fruit, pears, alfalfa sprouts, apricots, avocados, figs, grapes, nectarines, peaches, peas, pumpkin, raspberries, strawberries, squash, sweet corn, turnips, artichokes, brussel sprouts, cherries, leeks, okra, onions, brown rice, chestnuts.  I eat a lot of lentils, black-eyed peas, blueberries, cranberries, prunes, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds also even though they fall into the moderately acidic range, I eat them because of their other properties and I eat them with higher alkaline foods.  The only true extremely acidic foods I eat are yoghurt (usually goats milk yoghurt rarely traditional yoghurt), fish, poultry and breads (normally essene bread) and specific cereals such as buckwheat and amaranth.

I sometimes eat meat just to ensure I am getting iron but mostly I supplement my diet with Floradix and Hematic Response (Inate brand) to ensure I receive my recommended iron intake. Everything in moderation again is the key.
